Phyllis Barclay-Smith (1903 – 2 January 1980) was a British ornithologist. She was editor of the ''Avicultural Magazine'', and built up the International Council of Bird Preservation. In 1958 she became the first woman to receive an MBE for work in conservation, and in 1971 she was made CBE.〔Catherine M.
